The Durham College Mixed Reality Capture Studio (the MRC Studio) will provide students with the necessary tools to develop experiential applications. With a focus on motion capture, virtual reality and augmented reality, students will have the freedom to explore human interaction within a virtual space. The multi-purpose use of the lab will also allow the collaboration in between programs and schools; students could create virtual working scenarios to train Fire Fighting students, motion capture the way a patient runs for the Physiotherapy program, and more. This space will also prove to attract industry partners who will bring valuable experiences to the students and enhance learning through engaging in real-world projects.
