The Teaching City initiative, a recent collaboration between the City of Oshawa and local post-secondary education partners, addresses complex urban issues. As part of this project, DC and the City of Oshawa has established a pipeline of new co-op and field placement opportunities for DC students across a diverse range of programs including Executive Office Administration, Business: Marketing, Graphic Design, Horticulture Food and Farming, Health & Fitness Promotion and Library, Information Technician. Through this initiative, students gain newfound opportunities across City departments that include: Human Resources, Corporate Communications, Operations, Strategic & Business Services, Municipal Law Enforcement and Licensing Services, Innovation & Transformation, and Recreation. This experiential learning opportunity draws on the knowledge and creativity of our students to design solutions through community research and collaboration with DC faculty and community partners.
